PACO HALLAK IS SET TO RELEASE HIS NEW ALBUM INSPIRED BY THE LEGENDARY MATTEO CARCASSI
Inspired by Italian guitarist Matteo Carcassi (1796-1853) ’25 Etudes’ for classical guitar which were published around his death, Paco’s latest album is seamless blend of his passions, combining technical skill, fine musicality, and a strong educational core that elevates each piece perfectly.
An impressive series of compositions that have effortlessly stood the test of time, every piece within Paco’s new album is a fine whirlwind of artistic skill and sharp musical elements. In true form, each piece focuses on a different technical or musical element, flitting from slurs, scales, arpeggios, tremolo tirando and apoyando to musical suspensions and dynamics, creating a masterclass in musical ability that never fails to impress.
Arguably some of the most important studies written for guitar, Carcassi’s original etudes are renowned for their creative and educational foundations, providing a brilliant challenge for any aspiring guitarist. Known and celebrated for generations, they are the perfect blend of well-rounded technique and developed musicality, and Paco’s decision to record them stands as both a testament to his abilities and his passion.
Concluding with a gorgeous virtuosic piece that combines all the previous elements into one final and undeniable flourish, ‘25 Melodic and Progressive Studies, Op. 60 by Matteo Carcassi’ is an exciting musical journey that revels in contrasting sounds and stark musical elements.
Paco’s ‘25 Melodic and Progressive Studies, Op. 60 by Matteo Carcassi’ will be released on the 1st of July 2022.
