My love story with the music started when I was a five-years-old kid. The first instrument I played was the Oud, an oriental instrument, similar to the guitar. The Oud was my first contact to music and the door that opened the world of Music for my heart and soul.
In my childhood I had the chance to sing and play music. Thanks to the great teachers I’ve met, who believed in my talent and were my motivation to give more until this moment.
At the age of 11, I got my first Flamenco guitar: The start of my Flamenco Story – The Story of my Life!
From that time Flamenco was overwhelming my life, it was a new inspiring world, like a cloud taking me to new horizons.
While playing with other kids, all what I could think of, was my guitar and how I could become a musician someday.
To study Flamenco at that time and in that part of the world, where I grew up, was not an easy mission, people there were more interested in classical music or traditional Arabic music.
But I was lucky enough to dig my ways and find the right teachers and right Books who gave all they could to help me fulfilling my passion.
I spent most of my time “diving” deep into the world of Flamenco, the Spanish history, the culture and the playing methods.
After school, I continued my studies at Damascus Music Institute to learn more playing and teaching techniques that didn’t only help me making giant steps in the world of Flamenco. But also enabled me to put all my experience in the hands of my students who were thirsty to know more about this Art
In Damascus I have performed in many concerts of Flamenco and some of Oriental music, together with great musicians.
Then I decided to start discovering the world and follow my passion filling my soul with new adventures.
The first crucial experience was my trip to Turkey- Time that I can never forget; music was everywhere. I had the chance to play with highly talented musicians and fill my reservoir with new skills and diverse styles of music
However, the most important chance I’ve got in my whole life was to meet Paco Peña in Germany the Spanish Flamenco guitarist, one of traditional flamenco players. The one who believed in my talent and put in my hands some jewellery of his experience’s treasure. He lighted my soul with a new dream to be a real Paco De Damascus – That’s what Paco Pena called me: “Paco from Damascus”.
Now I’m living in Hamburg, Germany, “my home” where i also acquired experience in music therapy and as teacher. Playing with very professional German musicians and to be in German great musical culture inspired me a lot to develop my skills to be a professional guitarist. I’m working now as a soloist and a stage performer for flamenco guitar, as well as a guitar teacher in many schools in Hamburg and as private guitar teacher.
