J. S. Bach: Prelude No. 1 in C Major, BWV 846 – Free Arrangement for Solo Classical Guitar

This free digital sheet-music edition presents Paco Hallak’s adaptation of Bach’s Prelude No. 1 in C major, BWV 846, from Book I of The Well-Tempered Clavier. The original keyboard texture is transferred to classical guitar while preserving the continuous harmonic flow that gives the prelude its distinctive calm and clarity.

The arrangement offers guitarists a rewarding study in legato connection, voice balance, arpeggiated harmony, tone and long-range phrasing. Practical fingering supports a natural approach to the instrument while keeping the harmonic progression clear.

A beautiful introduction to Bach on classical guitar and a useful free score for students, teachers and performers.
