Familiar music takes on a new character when a single guitar carries the melody, bass and inner voices. On Arrangements for Solo Classical Guitar, Paco Hallak brings together his own arrangements of works by Albinoni, Bach, Scarlatti, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms and Shostakovich, exploring the colours of the instrument while preserving each piece’s musical character.
The arrangements took shape through patient work in everyday surroundings, including cafés, alongside a continuing search for quiet moments to practise and record. This personal process is part of the album’s story: finding space for music, listening closely and allowing each interpretation to develop at its own pace.
For listeners, the collection offers a fresh encounter with familiar works. For guitarists, the available scores provide an invitation to explore the phrasing, voicing and expressive possibilities behind the recordings.
